One of the last expansion teams to be added for Bug Nut Season #2, the Cerebrals have entered every season with optimism, but not much chance of contending for the title. Finishing Season #2 with 95 losses, Stockholm showed impressive improvement in Season #4 by increasing their win total by nine with their 76 victories.
Lacking home run power and pitching depth from their inception, the Cerebrals have always had one of the league's top hitters, Karl "Ty" Ziegler, and one of the league's top pitchers, Eisaku Sato. The Cerebrals go into games hoping that they will be able to manufacture enough runs to keep it close and give their pitchers a chance to win.
Season #4 saw an improvement in Stockholm’s pitching depth, particularly in the starting rotation. While the Cerebrals continued to lack home run power, Ziegler (28 triples, .379 avg.) and fellow outfielder Tobias Asser (20 triples, .325 avg.) finished number one and two in triples. Ziegler finished third in batting average and hits. Stockholm continued to rely on the manufacturing of runs as they had three of the top four leaders in sacrifice hits, including the top two non-pitchers.
Season #5 brings optimism that Stockholm will continue to improve, although it is doubtful that they will break into the top spot against Paris. To address their lack of power, the Cerebrals selected hard-hitting Emperor Maximinus in the Contraction Draft and Susie Daniels in the Chump Draft. Outfielder Carl Von Ossietzky has shown flashes of power, while Ziegler and Asser should continue to be the team offensive leaders. On the pitching side, Sato looks as strong as he ever has, while Klas Arnoldson and William Cremer have continued to develop into premier pitchers.
