Over the hills and next to an ancient burial ground, the Misty Mountain Hound Dogs will do battle. Many say spirits fly around the stadium, but the players are all for it. Many players hope the spirits will help them get more home runs by adding a little spiritual lift to the ball. Skeptics seem to say that it is all hogwash and that it is just a cemetery. The stadium was built high atop Black Mountain in the Misty Mountains. An ocean breeze keeps a near constant temperature perfect for the players and the fans.
Historians say the ancient burial ground is a result of the battle of Evermore, the name of the smallest mountain which acts as a levee, where illegal hangings took place on the gallows pole. One day during a rain storm a young man was to be hanged. His brother brought some silver and gold to save his brother, but the hangman pulled the rope anyway. A gunfight ensued. The brother shot the hangman, who shot the sister in the head while falling to the ground. When the brother knealt by his sister's side, the hangman shot him in the back. The brother turned around and shot the hangman again, finally killing him. The brother fell to the ground and died. Later the law determined that the hanged man was unjustly murdered. Now four sticks placed where they died are permanent reminders of the tragedy that took place in the Misty Mountains. A prayer will be said before each game.
The Hound Dogs have two good pitchers in T-Rex and Pink Floyd, but little else of notice.
