Beer Nut League - Ellis Island Mods

Ellis Island, once the portal way to many an immigrant, now has a stadium and a baseball team. The immigration station has been left in its original form, but now is the entry way to one of the largest state-of-the-art stadiums in the league. The Ellis Island Mods will swat their way into many fans' hearts as they welcome fans from the world over. All the stadiums have been built with natural grass, but Ellis Island has a high-tech sprinkler and grass seeding system. Touted as the greenest grass east of the Pacific Ocean, there seems to be extra bounce in the blades as if you were on a trampoline. The players are thrilled to have been chosen to play on this team in such a wonderful stadium. Thick, cushioned seats fill three and a half decks surrounding the playing field. Each seat has a cup holder and separate fold-down trays. Also, unlike the stone-slab seats in the Carpathian Mountains stadium, these seats can recline and vibrate for a gentle back massage. The Mods have been holding their practices on the beach in Brighton over in England while final preparations are made in the stadium.

The Mods, in their fancy new stadium, have some power and speed in the field with Paul McCartney at shortstop and Roger Daltry in right field. Jim Morrison is their closer and should give the Blue Meanies' Living Loving Maid a run for the money.
